UNSERE LAGEN

A gift from nature

The character of a wine is clearly determined by the subsoil and location. Deep and partly volcanic soils on south-southwest sloping slopes ensure extraordinary minerality, structure and aroma of the wines. The mild Illyrian climate has a particularly harmonious effect on the grapes, from which animating and lively wines are made.

THE RULER OF THE STONE VALLEY

Like a proud lion, this majestic elevation, visible from afar, towers over the stone valley. The extinct volcano with its fertile and nutrient-rich soil gives our grape varieties a particularly powerful, full-bodied and slightly spicy aroma. Hardly anywhere else in the world do these prerequisites apply to a situation.

THE HOUSE MOUNTAIN OF THE HOPFERS

The sun-drenched Aunberg is one of the best locations in Tieschen. The steep, south-sloping slopes provide top-class wines. The deep, calcareous soil prepares the breeding ground for a wide range of grape varieties that feel particularly comfortable on these soils.

Welschriesling

Hardly any wine goes better with a Styrian bar snack. The delicate scent of yellow-green apple and an exciting interplay of acids give this wine a freshness and liveliness that is second to none.

OLD VINES BAPTIZED IN THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUNG

The southern part of the Ried Patzenberg has always been known and sought after by the Tieschner winemakers as a particularly productive location. Our vineyards, with some of the vines that are over 50 years old, bless us with particularly high yields every year - this is extremely unusual for this age.
