The Roter Muskateller is a mutation of the Gelber Muskateller and, in contrast to that, develops a delicate reddish tint of the berry skin in the final phase, which gives it its name. Like almost all Muscatel varieties, it is characterized by a pronounced fruity bouquet with a fairly clear nutmeg aroma. With a certain maceration time, the wine made from it takes on a slightly rosé color. Only very little cultivation area in Austria and worldwide - absolute rarity!
